What is the difference between Smooth server rates and Lag-free server rates?

All I know is if I turn on both of them, the server crashes.
I still can't figure out what they do exactly.

Pretty sure “smooth server” rates ups what’s known as the ‘tickrate’, which is how many times per second the server updates. Think of it sort of like refresh rate on a monitor. Smooth ping sounds self explanatory but the reason they collide and crash your server is (I imagine at least) because what smooth ping basically does is use interpolation to try and prevent high ping users from rubber banding around all of the time, meaning the experience is more enjoyable for people in different time zones.

    I think.

    What's lag-free server rates then?

Lag free = smooth ping, I meant the same thing
